About Us
ECT Oekotoxikologie GmbH was founded as a privately owned, independent enterprise in 1993. Since then, ECT has been growing constantly and employs currently about 30 permanent staff. In November 2021, ECT joined the SynTech Research Group. All staff members hold a degree from a university or a technical (high) school. In addition, we host each year several undergraduate and graduate students, who often conduct their thesis work with us. Our laboratory and office space covers now more than 1500 m² and includes an isotope laboratory as well as analytical facilities.
Our premises are located close to Frankfurt/Main, Germany, within easy reach of the airport of Frankfurt, a central hub in Europe.
Important milestones of ECT Oekotoxikologie are:
- First GLP certification in 1994
- Start of the development of testing methods for new OECD guidelines in 1995
- First coordination of a cooperative research project funded by the European Union in 1996
- Start of cooperation with Brazilian research institutions in 1997
- Establishment of a staff unit providing regulatory services in 2000
- Extension of our services to the pharmaceutical industry in 2003
- Start of testing and evaluation of industrial wastes in 2007
- Accreditation according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 from 2010 to 2013
- ECT’s 20 year anniversary party at the Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt, November 2013
- ECT joins the SynTech Research Group in 2021
- Establishment of in-house analytical services in 2024
